Module-by-module breakdown
Scope and Deliverables
Every module ends with something concrete: a document, a recorded video, a script, or a completed test. Below is what each one covers and what you'll have by the end of it.
Mapping and Documenting Recurring Work
Covers
Listing every task that happens on a weekly, biweekly or monthly cycle. Sorting tasks by how much they depend on your personal judgment versus a fixed procedure. Choosing a manual format that's easy to keep updated.
Deliverable
A working operations manual, organized by task category, with step-by-step instructions written in plain language.
Format
Video lesson, editable document template, worked example.
Automated Responses and Workflows
Covers
Setting up autoresponders that set honest expectations. Building simple rules to route incoming requests. Identifying which tools you already use can handle basic automation without added cost.
Deliverable
A short list of active automated workflows, each documented with what triggers it and what it does.
Format
Video lesson, workflow diagram template, autoresponder script examples.
Training a Part-Time Backup Person
Covers
Deciding what a backup person actually needs to handle versus what can wait. Recording clear video walkthroughs without special equipment. Building a short onboarding checklist so training doesn't rely on live supervision.
Deliverable
A library of short recorded walkthroughs paired with a one-page onboarding checklist.
Format
Video lesson, recording setup guide, onboarding checklist template.
Client Communication for Absence Periods
Covers
Writing an advance notice message for clients. Setting clear response-time expectations during the absence. Establishing a simple path for anything genuinely urgent.
Deliverable
A set of editable message drafts, covering advance notice, out-of-office replies and urgent escalation instructions.
Format
Video lesson, editable message scripts, timing checklist.
Testing the System
Covers
Structuring a three to four day trial before scheduling two weeks away. Choosing what to observe during the trial. Running a short debrief with your backup person and updating the manual based on what you find.
Deliverable
A completed testing checklist and a revised operations manual reflecting lessons from the trial run.
Format
Video lesson, testing checklist, debrief worksheet.
How the modules connect
Documentation feeds automation. Automation feeds training.
The order of the five modules is intentional. Automating a task before it's documented tends to automate the wrong version of it. Training a backup person before workflows exist means they're learning a moving target. Each module hands off a finished piece of work to the next one.
By the time module five arrives, there's an actual system to test, rather than a collection of good intentions.
A note on pacing
Work through the modules at a pace that fits your calendar.
Some solopreneurs move through all five modules across a few focused weeks. Others space them out over a couple of months around client work. The material is organized so either approach works, as long as the order is kept intact and each module's deliverable is actually finished before moving on.
